They tend to be demanding and persistent because they are always looking to defend their ideas. For this reason, I decided to bring you this quick guide with tips to help you improve your articles simply and effectively.

Introduction

A good introduction,  choice of the first sentence, and whether the reader will continue reading. That is why it is important to have a well-designed introduction, which describes the objectives of the text and draws attention to the topic presented.

How:

  • Start with a catchy first sentence or a question to grab attention.

  • Try to adapt your tone and vocabulary to your target audience;

  • Provide context  and briefly concisely present your topic,

  • Clearly state the purpose of the article.

An engaging and rich narrative

Text development is the richest part in terms of content, which makes it important to keep engaged content to bring all necessary information without creating something repetitive and unclear.

How:

  • Active voice is the best option for more engaging and direct content, which keeps the reader's attention and brings possible discussions, making your work rich.

  • Changing to short, long sentence lengths is also other factors that keep the reader's attention, it makes your text less monotonous.

  • Strong evidence, add reliable references and sources to give the article credibility and support your claim. There are better chances of someone reading if they see good evidence rather than just a text affirming a topic without bringing other sources.

  • If necessary, bring storytelling balanced with factual sources.

Editing and reviewing

Editing effectively follows more than one phase, responsible for ensuring clarity, coherence, and development of ideas in the article are in agreement. A well-done edition turns a good work into excellent.

How:

  • In review: check the structure of the article, placement of arguments, accuracy of information, and clarity of writing.

  • In review: check grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

  • In review: choose a title that is engaging and informative

  • In editing: simplify ideas that are not so clear or confusing.

  • In editing: Adapt sentences and vocabulary to the target audience.

  • In editing: Eliminate repetitive words or sentences.

Seeking feedback is also a great way to review and edit your work, as someone who is not involved with the text like yourself can bring new perspectives and check that the main ideas and arguments are clear to the reader.

The best way to progress in article writing is to insist on bringing reliable and quality content. Familiarity with the search, studies, and structures will help you build thought-provoking introductions, evidence-rich developments, and productive editions.
